Looking to buy a LED Flashlight >$50 - June 18, 2010, 09:55 AM

I'm going camping in a few weeks and I only have my regular 2AA maglite. I'm looking to upgrade to get something a little brighter (looking LED) but around the same size. I'd like to get a bit more "range" from the light as well-

I'm looking at spending under $50, Any suggestions?

I upgraded my Maglite with a Terralux led bulb replacement like this
Amazon Amazon
Amazon (Links)Amazon (Links)

Don't know much about other lites, but HarborFriehgt has a small 9-led janks for like $5 that I keep in my car, works very well for small flashlight. The LED bulb upgrade was friggin crucial on my Mag tho, and its still tough enough to hit bigfoot in the face with. Or drug crazed hippies.

Go to Lowes. They sell a colman light that is $29 100 Lumens. Love it. I have 4 of them stashed around. I have a surefire that is a life saver, but this thing is damn close to it for 20% of the price.

Link says 65 lumens. Is it the same one you have? The multicolor mode can be handy. If that is the one you have, are there multiple LED's or a single with a filter?
