Looking for Personal Trainer - February 17, 2011, 09:58 AM

Hello,

So the wife has been trying to loose some weight.
We have a workout room with a treadmill and a personal GYM. However she is looking for some guidance in terms of diet and workout routine.
Any of you know of a personal trainer that can come to the house once or twice per week to guide her (between 2pm and 4pm). She prefers a female trainer. We live in Tyson's Corner/McLean area.
If you know of anybody please let me know.
Thanks!

My sis-in-law does this. I'll find out if she's taking on new clients. If so, I'll PM you her contact info.

Check out Crossfit... Not a personal trainer per se but your in a class environment, given one-one instruction and the workouts will result in losing weight and gaining that fit body we all inspire (eating habits must be considered as well). I would tell you that its not easy and she will have to work hard. However, to get results, that is the case in all circumstances. I am a member at a gym in Tysons if she is interested.

Things that may help her with weight loss are ...

-Reduce total daily calories intake
-Eat more meals but in smaller portions (stay away from bread, pasta, rice, sodas, try to not eat to many fruits and of course no fast food if possible )
If she is eating the usual 2-3 meals a day she may want to try eating 4 meals then maybe build up to 5-6 meals after a couple of weeks into it !
-Cardio 3-6 days a week ( maybe start with 20 mins then build up to 60-90 mins )
She can also add 2-3 weight tranning section if she has the energy !
-Don't eat a big meal at night and try to cut out carb intake if possible toward the night
-Lower carb intake
-No Drinking

Thats all I can think of right now now

Close freind and a great personal trainer with a great/positive attitude ....

And a trainer can help them build the good habits they need to stay focused and motivated.

There are many other aspects to it but it would take me hours to explain. I can look at her blood panel and make her loose that weight in fraction of the time frame.

Whatever you do OP, make sure you get a good trainer... They won't be cheap but it won't be a waste of your money.

I love how people show muscle shots from the waist up. Pan down to see toothpicks. Can you spell symmetry.

To the OP. No need for a trainer. Its simple math. Expend more calories than you take in = weight loss.

It even works with bad food. Twinkie diet helps nutrition professor lose 27 pounds - CNN.com

Nuff said.

I have a friend that does triathlons, iron mans, 100 mile ultra marathons (dude is an animal) and he still has a trainer. PT's are motivation and direction! Good choice!

Oliver I agree I dont think you need a personal trainer in order to learn how to eat and lose weight. I found motivation within myself. Ive lost 10 pounds since december I eat 5 small meals a day and workout. I can pm you a typical day of what I eat so she can get an idea. if your gonna pay for a trainer might as well get a gym membership they usually have a trainer that meets with you once to show you what equipment to used
