Looking for a quality used bicycle - July 26, 2011, 09:56 AM

The fiancee and I are looking to start riding during the little free time we have, we would prefer to pick up a pair of good used bikes before going out and buying some nice new ones.

Unfortunately I can't browse craigslist at work so I'm hoping some of you would be able to provide insight and recommendations on what's out there in this area.

Budget is a few hundred for each bike but that's flexible.

I'd presume that both of us would benefit from a mountain bike with front shocks due to the occasional rough terrain, I would be willing to pick up a full suspension bike since I would likely participate in off road trail rides. I understand that a bike with full suspension is not ideal for road riding.

I'm not a tall guy but I am use to deal with tall seats, a shorter bike would be ideal but I will work with anything. She's about 5'6-5'7.

Any help that those experienced individuals can lend would be much appreciated.

I have the below bike that I might be willing to part with. I am not a fan of it since I only do city riding.

Fuji Bikes | MOUNTAIN SERIES | SPORT HARDTAIL | NEVADA 2.0

I bought it at Hudson Trail.

That looks like something I'd be interested in riding!

Send me the details if you are considering parting with it.

College Park bikes down the block from University of MD's main campus has a pretty extensive and varied collection of used bikes at fair prices. http://bike123.com/used_bikes/used_bikeslist.php
It's where I bought my Specialized Rockhopper years ago.
I believe Proteus Bikes about a mile away also sells used bikes too.
