For the love of god please use BCC for mass distro email - December 17, 2007, 05:13 PM

Ok really, please share this special email tip of the day.

Please..Please...Please when you send an email to a LARGE distribution list, instead of using the TO: line for your list of people, put it in the BCC (blind Carbon Copy) field.

why do you need to do this??

This will stop All the motherfuckingidiots who hit reply or reply ALL thinking it is going to the originial sender, but instead email everyone on the god damn list.

If you use BCC, the idiots can ONLY reply to the sender and not everyone else.

At the place where I work at? When the technology group sends a mass email out, why do people have to reply to all and say to take me out the list. The next person will reply to all and tell everyone to stop replying to all. This goes on for about 5-6 hours people are you stupid.

I just started blocking people. But then they started coming to my desk instead... so maybe that wasn't a good idea.

That's entirely too easy. Unfortunately they create a nightmare on the administrative end, especially if you're in a Notes environment and some jackass starts screwing with the #All Users list.

Everyone should reply-all to all emails.

More emails to more people = more intranet/internet traffic

more intranet/internet traffic = need for more network gear

need for more network gear = need for more juniper gear

need for more juniper gear = higher JNPR stock price

higher JNPR stock price = bigger raises/bonuses/stock value for me

So. Please, use Reply all at all times and send large porn emails to eachother. Thank you.

Also, anyone using Reply to All for porn emails should add me to the CC line before clicking "Send".

Thanks!
