Make Music? - April 25, 2006, 11:27 AM

OK. I am going to try this again.

Anyone play musical instruments besides the skin flute?

I want to try get back into the band scene again.
I am really digging the funk/reggae rock sound. If anyone else plays any instruments, post up and maybe we can meet up and play.

I can sing, play guitar, or play bass. I have a microphone, amp, and guitars.

i take offense, i can play the didgeridoo which translated from aboriginie means "skin flute" because its made from the skin of a eucalyptus tree. still learning to circle breath though....... let the d*ck sucking jokes begin.

I hate funk but I'll play reggae all day.

Please do not whore up my thread.

OK let's set up a date, time and place to jam. If we get everyone here we can make it a day and drink and BBQ somewhere. Whoever has the drums is the shot caller!! Looks like (TLCurt)I am a hardcore guitarist, that was taught by a blues guitarist. But I like the Punk/Reggaerock sound (Sublime, 311, and Ballyhoo) and I have been trying it out. I am down to play anything though. My heart belongs to singing.

Bass.

Mostly into acid jazz, soul, 80s, jugnle/drum&bass. Always been a fan of funk/rock like RHCP and 311, but a lot of the bands that are doing it now sound so damn cliche. I'm more of a rhythm section player than a soloist. (refreshing for a bass player, eh?)

didgeridoo? Awesome! I totally heart Jamiroquai!

I'm playing with a hawai'ian hula band right now (seriously), but I'm up for jamming in any style peeps would like.

I'd be up for some rockin, but we'd need to establish where it would take place. My gear is currently in Arlington at my bands practice house. I guess I could see if it would be ok to play there but keep in mind, it is a bit far.

My gear is sort of love it or hate it kind of stuff.....electronic/acoustic. I use them for my current gig which is a 80's tribute act. They get the job done.

Old school Simmons SDS7 pads run through an Alesis DM5 module with acoustic cymbals, kick, and snare.

Here are a couple of pics....
