Arrow "Map of Members" - May 5, 2008, 07:51 PM

I should just right now but here goes.

I just found and added myself to the "Map of Members" located under the "Navigation Menu" on the left. I can't believe that no one lives closer to me.

Lets get it updated. I know there's a lot of new members and I'm sure they would like to know who is around them. You know, either to ride with or move far away.

Just to be on the safe side.

I was on there for a long time, before someone mentioned the notion that someone could get on there to locate and steal bikes if they wanted to. I removed myself pretty quick after that. The map is a great idea, but unfortunately it could be used for evil too.

Yeah, but it's the silent black helicopters you really have to watch out for. I think you're being a little over the top paranoid about the map. It narrows you down to a part of town, but there's nowhere on there that I had to put my actual address in. Maybe it was different for you. Even so, I'd love to have somebody come out and try stealing my shit.

I've brought it up a couple times just to have it shot down by the safety-ninnies. Anyway, I'm posted and I'll remain posted. Still think it's a good idea and promotes a better sense of community for the forum.

A pin on a map is not an address people. Geez. Participate or don't, but don't discourage those who want to post up.

+1

There are tons of people with bikes in mine and surounding apartments/townhomes. They will pass many bikes before they get to my "PIN"

On the other hand I understand some people are dicks/wanted/paranoid/ect.. and feel the need to keep there 20 a secret.

POST'EM UP PEOPLE

Manassas seems to be a ghost town (according to the map) 3 pins other than me with only 1 that is active on the board.

I like this idea, and i'll update my info accordingly.

So far it seems as though (at least according to this thread) that I qualify, as a safety ninnie, a dick (don't really get that one), and paranoid....etc. But the thruth is that I do feel more secure about the bike still being there in the morning. It sucks that theft happens but if I can do something simple to help avoid becoming a victim, chances that i'll probably do it.
