Maryland pros and cons? - July 4, 2012, 10:13 AM

I'm in the process of moving to Maryland and was curious what I have to look forward to and dread about the state and it's ways?

I LOVE living here, the only thing I like about VA is their open carry policy. Other than that, you can look forward to driving 75mph without getting arrested and spending 3 months in jail. As a matter of fact, the staties will probably pass you on the highway.

this

had a line of MoCo tailgating me for miles down a 2 lane road and then blast off weaving through traffic at 90+ mph when we hit 270. no lights or sirens

My thoughts too. I lived in Maryland for several years in various counties. While they may have a slight edge with their traffic laws, they fail in just about every other area in comparison to Virginia.

In MD you won't have to pay taxes on your vehicles all the damn time... And you only have to get your vehicles inspected at title transfer.

There is defiantly less traffic and I also don't care about the gun laws.

I think the crime rate will depend on the area. I'm sure Deep Creek Lake will have far lower crime rates than Fairfax. As far as schools we won't have to worry about that for 5 years and who knows if we will be here that long. Thanks for the input though.

How often do you have to pay taxes on your vehicles in MD? I'm kinda worried about the one time state inspection thing. I don't want some moron with shitty tires/brakes crashing into my family.
