No points on camera tickets, just fines.

Seriously? I saw something like that flashing earlier this week. Total BS. On a crowded highway how would they be able to discern the speeds correctly? (Painted lines on the road?)

Just curious as I see that coming in my future. Grrrrr

they set up speed cameras man, just like a red light ticket

the bull shit part of it was I got it on a work trip to Baltimore and the ticket violation says "Montgomery County I495" whatever bullshit that is. I could not even verify I was in a work safe zone because of that vague shit

So how do you take the ticket to court? Who do you subpoena to testify? Most tickets actually have to PROVE something. Red light ticket can show a picture or three. Just curious as to how an automated speed ticket machine can testify in court.

Talk about total BS. If they want to slow people down...how about a police car. Not a money machine.

If you read the fine print on the back it tells you how to fight it.
Pretty sure you can just say "Someone else was driving my car" since all it has is your licenses plate.

Most people will just be too lazy to go through the process.

Good luck.

This isn't europe/england. Cars are not guilty of crimes. People are guilty of crimes. Kinda why I believe that most red light cameras are also BS unless they can clearly identify the driver. Same for this case but they also have to definitively proof the speed. Not just require us to trust that the machine is calibrated correctly.

People make mistakes, machines make mistakes, I make mistakes. I don't have an issue with a speeding ticket when it's my fault in general. But not a ticket by a machine.

Yeah you're fucked. It's only a fine though, no points or driving record issues. The reason is that they know whose car it is but not who is driving.

It's all just about the money. Maryland is on the verge of over-taxing their residents. Some say they already crossed the line.

in my experience, for the highway ones, if there's another car/vehicle in the frame the ticket won't go through. I've been flashed many times, the only time i got a ticket was when i was all by my lonesome. I have however gotten speed camera tickets on sidestreets with other cars in the frame, but from from the two pics they send i was clearly the one that was speeding.

if you say it wasn't you, you have to provide the contact info for the person who was driving your vehicle at the time. I'm not sure how aggressive they are about checking your info or tracking that person down though.

Ichikai-machi, Haga-gun, Tochigi-ken

And just say, "Yeah he was here and left to return home."

68 in a 55. that sucks cuz it only goes off when you're going 12 or more over the limit.

Yup! Not to mention all the signs that tell you there's photo radar. If you can't hold it 12mph over the speed limit when they tell you, then you kinda deserve it

Also anyone else notice the BULLSHIT Photo Camera they've been setting up as you come flying into DC off the 14th St Bridge or 395? Little yellow sign says Photo Enforcement, and then as you get to the bottom of the hill before the intersection at the Treasury Bldg, there's been a mobile unit setup. Kinda strange I've only seen it during rush hour going into the city, not really sure how one is able to speed through there with all the cars backing up. If this one isn't about money I don't know what is...there's a red light camera right at that intersection too.

Hey man, be nice! lol.
Areas by my house just have signs. no camera. very misleading.

but 68 on a 55 might be the surviving cruising pace on a motorcycle (assuming he was riding)

what was the ticket though? $40 bucks?

I've done that before. Used a friend in German address.
Worked out well. Ticket was dismissed.

Not in a work zone. Fines double.
