Medication: Where Is The Cheapest Place To Purchase w/ or w/o A Prescription? - October 28, 2011, 03:29 PM

No, I'm not looking for Oxy or Percs.
Slow: I believe you're in Med School; you may actually be of assistance here instead of your usual troll quips.

My cousin recently moved to FL because her company asked her to take a transfer or a weak separation package. 9 weeks after the move they laid her off. F*cking bastards knew she was leaving New York specifically for this job and it was going to upheave her life.

She called me an hour ago and said my niece picked up some kind of fungal infection at her new school and needs medication, however, since my cousin doesn't have health insurance she's going to have to pay the full unsubsidized price for the medication.

It's something called Grifulvin. For a 500mg; 60 tablets dosage it's going to cost her ~$230.
Grifulvin V consumer information from Drugs.com

I know how tight money is right now for her so I am going to wire her the money to get the medication but I wanted to know if anyone knew where you could purchase it for less? Or perhaps if there was a generic substitute? Or sometimes, I know pharm reps or doctors will have a brick of free samples sitting around.

Thanks.

griseofulvin is the generic option.

The best person to ask is a pharmacist.

I believe he asked where he could get it cheaper without the actual script.

Without a script that would believe me to lead that he was considering the online chinese methlab crap or similar alternatives that bare the similar name.

so reading didn't really fail me. But it being a toenail fungus type of medicine Depending on where she had it im sure there is an alternative OTC for it

You believe wrong. He asked nothing about getting it without a prescription. He asked for alternate sources, generics, and other options.

It is legit.
I asked w/o a prescription because if I purchased it, I would not be in physical possession of the prescription (it's in Florida). But a prescription does exist.

I'm not looking to "score" anti-fungal medication.
