metro fare increase.....again - June 28, 2010, 04:38 PM

Dear metro,
I woule like to say the recent increase in fares had just made driving and parking to work about the same cost. Now riding my motorcycle to work and pay less than $5 in parking versus the now $8 round trip ride from tysons to DC.

You suck, metro, along with your lousy delays and smelly passengers.

/end rant.

*No charge for train derailments, crashes, track fires, and other assorted life periling events.

they just need to fire everyone at metro. Privatize it, and be done with it. They are incapable of running a smooth operation.

Negative. The problem with the DC Gov't is that it's handcuff to a certain extent and has to answer to and get nanny checked by Congress because it's not a true city and rather a Federal District.

It's why DC has been fighting for complete autonomous home rule for the better part of 3 decades.

pppsssshhh if DC gov't had autonomy it would be worse then detroit is now. I think they should just federalize the whole city, give them a senator, a congressmen and get rid of local gov't, and be done with it.

750,000 DC residents would disagree with this direction.
Giving the Federal government oversight and day-to-day management over an entire city and civilian residents is a recipe for FAIL.

The only qualification or experience they would have in that regard would be running military bases.

If they fired everyone at metro there would be a couple of dot netters out of a job.

I might have a dirt bike problem.

Just get rid of the union labor. Then we can fire the shitheads, hire decent workers at a fare wage, raise efficiency, and then lower fares.

Then again... That's just me.

On the internet... Everyone is an expert.

And now...The dancing Banana:

Parking Enforcement and Ticketing.

They are exceeding excellent at this "service" to the constituents.

I certainly did not get a +18% in service today with this new fare.

Oh what do ya know, the escalator was broken again today...and did they reduce the AC use inside the stations or is it just me.
