I can dig it.
Now the question is powerplant.
V6TT, V8, or V8T?

V6TT, V8, or V8T?

I think they know america aint going to go for no V6TT only engine.... I can see it as an option...but they will have a pure v8 in it.

I can see the V6TT being the entry level vette at $55k....v8 starting at $60k ish

I see this being a ZR1 style release. This will be the pinnacle of Vette performance, but so as to not alienate their base keep the current body style as the base for two more years, and keep all engines V8 for the time being. Then in 3 or 4 years I see a mid engine V6TT with electric motors up front to make it AWD.

So here is a question...

With a mid engine Corvette in the works will we see Cadillac make a R8 competitor? Revive the XLR?

Hmmmm, I was just talking to cannon trying to figure out how do you apese both parties.

Traditional big block old school killer V8 fans, along with getting into the new hyper car market...well not new..but new for america.... and introduce a light weight high HP car. I did not think about the combination of electric and TTV6 to get her into the exotic car market.

I guess they could just name it the Chevy ZR1
and have variations on the current C series.
Id start over and have it as a Z1 body / generation.

My question... do you think the new vette will be in the $100k range? if so what will they do for the $60k range crowd? non turbo mid engine vette?

good question.

I think they are scared to get back into the 2 seat hyper car market.
I cant remember the name of that vette knock off they had with the retractable hard top...shit was badass. I was surprised it had a short life span and no returns.

Still wish they made that Cien.

The one you were talking about had horrible sales and I think if I remember correctly was the most expensive sports car in the US at the time.

No. Cadillac realized after the "Caddy that zigs" Catera line and the paltry sales of the V program that they're just not going to be seen as a performance brand. At least not one at this time can support a stand alone halo performance car. Audi had over a decade of success in Rally, LeMans and DTM before the R8 was introduced.

That was the XLR:

Fun fact they even made them for the Top Mary Kay Sales Directors, and yes they were pink.

I dunno Heist, Audi hadnt dipped their toe into the super car market until the R8, if the platform exists and just needs some new bodywork, and higher end luxury components I can see it.

I really do wonder if they will dump some Volt motors in to the front end of the Vette in a couple years.
