Thumbs up Mini/Pocket Bikes - May 26, 2009, 09:40 AM

So I'm trying to buy a pocket bike (mini bike) just to have some fun with on the weekends. I have a few friends who are also going to buy one and we found a couple nice places to have some fun riding them (parking lots, school grounds, neighborhood, etc, etc)

So does anyone have any experience as far as brands, makes, models, what to look for, what to steer away from, etc? I was looking at a 47 or 49cc bike, figure that should be enough, anyone have one they want to post a picture of?

note: I'm looking to buy, so if you have one send me a PM

I think some people race mini bikes at Allsport sometimes. I'd like to know what kind of bikes those are

you are looking for a pocketbike right? there is a difference between that and a minibike, minibikes being a bit larger than the former. 49cc is fast enough, the 4hp motors will take you up to around 30mph...dependent on bodyweight. they are a breeze to work on and fun to play with.
you can get a chinese knockoff real cheap (couple hundred $) or an italian model for a couple grand...just get a cheapo at first to see if you like it.

definitely looking for a pocket bike (mini sportsbike), just something cheap for now, 49cc, not really looking for anything bigger
