They are selling it as a whole, and are not giving the passengers a chance to buy the plane in peices.
I think at the very least, they owe each passenger the seat they were sitting in.

For Sale:
Used Airbus 320. Airframe in good condition. Engines no longer working (Rolls Royce or GE can be substituted.)
Mild water damage.

CFM56-5A1, CFM56-5A3 (50/50 Snecma and GE), IAE V2500-A1 or IAE V2500-A5 (a mix mainly of Rolls Royce and Pratt & Whitney) are your engines options for a Airbus A320-214. Interesting partnerships when you consider Pratt & Whitney, General Electric and Rolls-Royce also produce their own engines (often for the same airframe) in a highly competitive market.

Back on topic, somebody will buy it to convert it into a cheap cabin trainer. This will be a cheaper purchase as opposed to buying an airframe that is being scraped in my opinion due to hits history (and scrape value of parts is almost nil expect for the recycling value of the metal itself.

The Gimli Glider is also for sale in slightly more airworthy condition.

That plane is as much a hero as Sully and Skiles are..

Held up incredibly well and performed beyond specs
