Missed Connection on 123 - September 19, 2008, 07:53 AM

To the guy riding the older model Kawasaki or Honda on 123 this morning -- couldn't tell what kind of bike. It sounded like a 500. Let's be honest, it sounded like a lawnmower.

You attempted to scream by me just over my left shoulder, thankfully not in my lane, because then we would have had words. I'm very sorry, sir, but you failed to scare me. It takes a lot more than that to rattle me. (It takes RRSheDevil on a 1000 to do that)

And I appreciate you pulling up next to me at the light, and apologizing for scaring me. I assured you at the light that you in fact did not -- and you weren't even remotely close. Perhaps the tinted visor made you miss the rolling eyes. And I also appreciate you letting me know that my brake lights weren't working. They are in fact working -- downshifting is a nifty technique you might want to learn one day.

Oh, and lane splitting is illegal in Virginia. And not impressive to a woman rider. And it's especially stupid on a bike that small in Fairfax with all the police officers out...

I also forgot, sir --

At no point on 123 between 95 and Braddock Road is there a curve that requires one to get out of the saddle to make the turn... If you turn on Old Bridge and go about 6 miles out of your way, Clifton is a nice alternative commute for that.

lol...

but I would like to defend the "tucked at low speeds" ball breaking statements...

...hey sometimes at night it's chilly...and we can't all speed at 120 down the highway, so we tuck to stay warm if the leather isn't doing a good job.

What do you value more? Life or Image?

You're new, so I'll cut you some slack. Not tucked at low speeds -- I have a street fighter with no fairings, I know all about the low speed cold tuck. This was flat out hanging off the saddle, as in trying to touch a knee. Not cool on 123...

And sank you, Boomie and Mrs. Castle. Sank you veddy much
