Movie Review Thread: Seen anything good or bad? - August 19, 2007, 11:12 PM

ok, so tonight i watched 2 movies...

1. Disturbia- Awsome movie. Im not normally into the suspense thriller thing, but very well done. 4 out of 5 stars in my book

2. Pathfinder- What a load of crap this movie was. 107 minutes of straight crap crap crap. i think there were MAYBE 50 spoken lines in the whole movie. id give it .25 out of 5 just because there were some cool beheading and such.

Disturbia was alright. I like that shia labuff dude, he seems witty and down to earth.

Another good thriller is 1408 with john cusack and samuel l jackson. It was based of a short story by steven king, and is one of the best adaptions since "The Shining". Definately good for some jumps (and not just the cheap loud noise ones).

Sunshine was excellent, though it probably is not in theatres anymore.

I rented Fracture this past weekend and it was a great murder mystery. Anthony Hopkins was phenominal as usual...I definitely didn't figure the ending to this one out!!

STARDUST:
I thought I'd be bored with a Narnia/Road to Tarabithia/The Last Mimsy cheesiness (Yes, I actually saw those movies..they all sucked balls)... This one is pretty damn good, and it's no kid's fairytale. If I had to compare it with anything at all it would have to be Princess Bride. It's got that kind grown-up charm to it; not terribly kiddie film-like... go see it. Michelle Pheiffer is great evil witch! Robert DeNiro's performance is definitely the highlight of the film!

Ugh...Justin and I went to see this last week. I have been looking forward to this movie for months (I'm a HUGE Neil Gaiman fan) and I was totally disappointed, to the point of disgust that we walked out.

If you haven't already check out Mirror Mask, another Gaiman classic...its a must see.

Youtube does not do the visuals justice.

Yesterday we watch PERFUME. I loved it and the ending will have you sitting there going WTF?

Mirror Mask is amazing! We own that one. If Perfume is the same as the book I read years ago...does it have to do with a child who's born in France who grows up with an unbelievable sense of smell? Is that in theaters?
