Talking Moving to the NoVA area..Manassas or Woodbridge - November 21, 2012, 09:54 AM

Hey whats up everyone so i'm about to get out of the military and moving to either woodbridge va or manassas ..not sure which one yet, I recently got a job in D.C. and wanted to move closer than where i'm at now. Can anyone tell me any good places to move to? I'm going to be renting an apartment for 1 year then settle down with a condo or a townhouse or even a house next year for the wife and my lil girl. I really appreciate it everyone thanks.

lakeridge, it's in woodbridge, north part of it.

in manassas you goig to be dealing with 66. you don't want to deal with 66. 95 is not much better but alas is the least road rage inducive.

Lived in Manassas VA for 5 years or so, at Westgate Apartments. They are not high end apts, nor ghetto (lots of hispanics in Manassas tho). Their rent is affordable, and it include GAS.
Apartments in Manassas furnished corporate rentals VA | Westgate Townhomes | Garden apartment flexible lease terms Prince William County Virginia near I-66

Westgate Apartments - Manassas, VA 20109 | Apartments for Rent

The apts are a couple of blocks away from a PRTC bus stop, which you can take to Vienna metro or DC:

PRTC - The Ride That's Right For You

The VRE train station is about 10 mins away from the apts.

You dont want to drive towards DC in the morning from either place (Manassas or Woodbridge)

66 sucks. 95 is better. I would vote for Woodbridge. Ride to work if you can. Houses are kinda cheap in older sections of Woodbridge and Dale City. My neighborhood is cool.

i'll look into lakeridge ...just my college that i want to go to is in Manassas..so i'm willing to deal with communiting once a week there rather than 30+ mins of traffic daily on 66

Not going to happen in NOVA, although I've been out of the market for 6 years or so. Your best bet is to rent a townhouse from an owner/realtor.

Few years ago, I only found a handfull of apts with garages in the NOVA area. Those places where high class, at least judging by the monthly rent.

They exist. For example, in Manassas, check out Rosemary Ridge.

lol @ 30+ minutes on 66 to dc from manassas...it takes that long now just to get to fairfax. Manassas to DC is well over an hour man. I know as I do it a couple of times a week. Takes my fiance' about 45 minutes to go from manassas to chantilly via 66....its ridiculous!
