My old car - April 29, 2009, 09:45 AM

Here is my old project car, parted out and no longer have it...RIP.

Just a little of my background before bikes...

I bought my '02 Civic DX brand new with 7 miles on the speedo back in October 2001. Since that time, I have been modifying the car, first for aesthetics, then for power, then back to aesthetics again and back and forth. I didn't build this car overnight and it's took me a lot of hard work, time, money, and busted knuckles to get it where it was. I decided to show it in the '08 season, won 1st at NOPI MD regional, Carlisle P&S and 2d at BOTI. Enjoy the photos and vids.

I had a '91 CRX that I always wanted to hook up like that....but my budget never allowed me to and I ended up selling it about 3 years ago.

Yeah, I couldn't tell you how much I spent on this thing over the 7 years I owned it. To be honest, I never thought I would take it as far as I did. I was looking at a RHD swap, I actually had the entire interior out of a UKDM civic just like it, but I needed a firewall and windshield, too difficult and expensive to get, then if I ever crashed it, I'd have been fooked. I was also debating a custom paint job that would've set me back about another 4-5k and I decided it was time to get out of the hi-performance game and start putting money away rather than blowing it all on the car. But it was fun while it lasted...

That's nothing, you should see this thing on a dohc 2+ litre, they pull 550 whp+ on stock cam i-vtec engines...

Blown up my share of the d series. Yeah man, I actually had that happen to me, but just one time, missed 4th for 2d from the top of 3d, rods were crower I beams and were perfectly in tact. Dropped two exhaust valves, destroyed 2 pistons and both #'s 2 & 3 combustion chambers. Rod bearings were toast with hot spots. Those 2 cylinders had some minor scarring, otherwise, block was unharmed, so was the crank. Reused the crank, rods, and block, overbored .5mm and oversized pistons, put it all back together and you'd have never known... Gotta love honda engines, they're like legos.

my buddy just build an EF hatch with a B18C3 swap (95'-98' Integra type R motor).

the body is pretty rough so pics wouldnt do it any justice but its a nasty little car. He had a B16 sitting around that the EG came with and he had a CRX shell that the B18 came in. I was contemplating building a B16 CRX with him for me to screw around with but didn't have the money at the time.
