My other obsession - March 15, 2007, 03:36 PM

I thought you might like to see my other toys!

I am an avid RC modeler and fly with the NOrthern Virginia Radio Control (NVRC) in Catharpin VA (in Haymarket)

I have just completed my latest, a Dave Brown Illusion, painted with Silk and Dope in tribute scheme to Evil Knievel. The kit is from the 80's, and the motor is an O.S. .60 FX, Futaba PCM radio with Digital 3550 servos and mechanical retracts

So if you have a RC related itch, let it be heard!

I will listen....

I haven't run an RC of any type in forever. The plane looks like it was fun to build. Hollar when your flying it next time around. Good stuff.

In the other related RC news:
If your looking for a used RC10GT (Team Associated) truck with new (never run) OS motor with extra's let me know. Extra wheels (street & off-road), quick charger, upgraded exhaust pipe, extra plugs, remote, and lots of other parts that I can't think of. This is not a fuel & go item, the engine has NEVER run (so it will need its initial break-in settings first). This trucks been to the beach a few times (literally 3 times) & some local tracks for fun. If your looking for a great project, its taking up space in a shed for like +4 years now. Make an offer. Probably $+800ish vested (Plus countless hours building). Note: The picture below is not actual, but its the same type only new. I'll try to take some pictures tonight (and start another thread- sorry).

Hey! I do RC, or used to till I moved to VA last year. I have an Ultra Sport 40 with a Supertiger .51 and a ScatKat Quicky500 with a Webra Speed .40. They're still in boxes since my move from Cali. Let's go flying! I need a new radio first though.

dDubya I loved the scat Cat! I flew Q-500 back in the late 80's early 90's, the scat was the fastest and most stable 120mph aircraft I ever flew, IM me sometime, what part of VA you live in? Get those planes out of the boxes and hook them up, I can help you with the radio, I have bunch just laying around, plus the NVRC Auction is coming up later this month, good deals on all sorts of gear. and there is always Ebay.....
