FOUND - Need 6" of 2" Diameter Copper Pipe - February 21, 2010, 03:20 PM

Yeah, I'm actually posting this here because I just can't find any of this pipe anyplace in sections under 10-feet long ... and 10-feet costs $150.

All I need is a teeny tiny 6-inch section ... 2-inches in diameter.

Anybody have a tidbit laying around?

My brother is a plumber, will be up at his place later this week and will pull what you need, if he has it laying around.

Why does it have to be copper? Are you brazing? I might have something at the shop and will look around.

We will only consider helping you if you tell us what you're doing with it. And if it's boring, make up something interesting.

FYI, if it has blood all over it, are you still interested????

Anything for clandestine moonshine
I gotcha.
Here's what I've left from last year's project.

The 3'' sat outside for a while, but it shouldn't be a problem.
The 2'' inch is the malleable type, perfect for a still.
They're yours, Lemme know.

Thks, Ziggy. In your picture, that looks to be 1" diameter ... unless you have really, really big feet (LOL) ... but I can't really tell.

Got to have 2" diameter. It's very rigid. I need a section of it that is 6 - 8" long. I will sweat it (solder connection) on to the end of what I already have.

The two stores I went to had lots of pipe, but it was all too narrow. The diameter was all 1" or below ... unless I wanted to buy a 10-foot long section for $150.

Gotta have 2" diameter ... 6 to 8 inches long or it won't fit onto the end of what I already have.

Try calling or going into the Furgesons supply house in Chantilly. That place has more copper bits in every size than you could imagine. Hint* all the plumbers in this region go there to get there stuff* It's at least worth a call.

And if you go in there, you may be able to find some pieces like 2" 90's, then cut them up and solder the straight pieces to make it long enough. Just a thought....
