Need to find a new job - November 14, 2006, 04:39 PM

Ok...I just saw this on Yahoo finance page:
http://yahoo.reuters.com/news/articl...1-ArticlePage2

I'm like WTF!!!!!

How soon are they thinking of selling NGS?

Looks like I might need to put my resume back out on the net as job security is not looking so good. Has anyone ever worked for a company that was bought out? Did they keep the majority of the old companies employees or did they just fire them?

I currently work as a Systems Administrator for Nortel Government Solutions...anyone know of any companies that are hiring Network Engineers, Desktop Engineers, System Admins. no less than $65k a year!?

You should definitely start looking. There is no telling whether they will keep everyone or not, but even if they do, the corporate culture might change and you may not like it, so better to be safe. If there is a sale, often companies will do a reduction in force to reduce overlap as they integrate the business, and often that entails a nice little going away package, so don't just jump ship. But definitely put some feelers out.

Do you have a clearance? PM me, my girlfriend works for a top gov contracter and does basically the same thing you do. I'll be happy to help out!
