Need a lot (legal) to teach my 5yr old son to ride - July 20, 2010, 04:37 PM

I'm in Arlington and am looking to teach my 5yr old to ride his PW50. Does anyone have a lot that's not too far where he can practice the basics. Just trying to get him to a point that I can remove the training wheels. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm willing to pay $20/hr or a monthy fee.

Can you haul the bike somewhere? As far as I know, the old multiplex cinema in merrifield has an abandoned, somewhat overgrown lot in the back. I've seen everyone from wheelie freaks to moto cops practicing maneuvers back there.

what multiplex? What parking lot? I live above Xsport fitness, they have torn down the Multiplex and have closed out the entire parking

Near the corner of Firstfield Road and Bank Street in Gaithersburg is the MSF course range. I used to hit that a lot when I lived up there. It's not lit at night though, and you have to deal with MSF courses going on most weekends in the warmer months. Still, it's a really great lot that's never used for parking or anything else except for MSF and an occasional CDL training session.

use the parking lot behind the sears at 7 corners, its huge, and empty, and people use it all the time to learn to ride on. cops do not care at all.

Damn really, last time I passed through the multiplex was still shuttered up and the parking lot was accessible.
