Need recommendations for car stereo sales/installation in MD or NoVA - July 16, 2012, 01:05 PM

I'm looking to replace the head unit in my 2011 Subaru Forester with one that's got built in NAV and will also be compatible with all of the existing functions of the stock unit (Satellite radio, rear-view camera, IPOD controller, blue tooth, steering wheel controls, etc.). Can anyone recommend a place that has a good selection of equipment, does quality installation and also provides excellent service if I have any problems after the install? I'm more interested in quality equipment/service than in saving money. Thanks in advance.

Can't speak to the shops in the area, but a DIY job via crutchfield is always a pleasure.

You get detailed instructions, a wiring harness that makes installation a snap (and eases removal if you need to later.), and great prices.

Thanks Fitz, I know about Crutchfield and buy most of my electronics from them. I actually thought about buying a unit from them and installing it myself (I may still go that route), but in this case I think I'd like to have it installed by a pro and I also prefer to patronize our local shops if they provide quality equipment and service.

Gotcha.

Wish i had a shop recommendation for you.

Some dudes on this board do the work, I think. Maybe one of them will chime in.

Any other recommendations? Surely there must be some folks on here that have had car stereo installation done?
