Need to rent a trialer next week - May 23, 2008, 02:02 PM

Does anyone know anything about JLR trailer rentals in Manassas? I was searching through some threads where someone had mentioned renting from them but I can't find any info about them online. I need to rent a trailer for a week to haul 2 bikes down to Ocean City MD.

I was going to try and rent from Uhaul but they wont let you tow their trailers behind a Ford Explorer, which is what I would be using.

Any info is appreciated!

I do, ask for Jerry, tell him that Jessica that worked at the RV dealership sent you. He gave me a FAT ASS hook up last year to go to Derek's wedding!

I've used them and they're great: Talk to Jerry at 703-368-0593. They're on Balls Ford Rd (sort of parallels I-66 on the south side), between business 234 and the 234 bypass (closer to the 234 bypass rather than the business 234 end, and on the north (I-66) side of Balls Ford Rd), combined with a storage rental place. They're a little off the road so you have to look for them a little.

Wait a minute. Why the hell won't they let you tow behind an Explorer? Maybe you're trying to get a larger trailer than you need? I've rented trailers from Uhaul and towed them with a Subaru Forester. Explorer should be no problemo.

Its a legal thing left over from a few years ago when the Exlporers were flipping over due to "bad tires" and stuff.. U-Haul got sued a bunch and simply quit renting to Explorer owners to stop the law suit frenzy. Nothing to do with capability...only liability.

$60 for seven days. That was an enclosed trailer that would hold 2-3 bikes.

Nice trailers with all of the goodies. Devious and BlueR rented this for a Summit track day - i think they said, "$20 per day".

The guy working there was very helpful.

Nope, no surcharges for anything. We did all the state inspections for their trailers so he didn't charge me much for the rental. $60 for seven days took it! He said he'd charge me $35 for an open trailer.
