Need a shipping crate - November 30, 2007, 01:41 PM

BacardiDawn is headed back to the UK and I need to get her bike back to her. She's secured spot on a container for Dec 14, but needs a crate. Can anyone give me a line on where I can procure one?

I don't know much about shipping stuff, but she's specified that she cannot take the wheel off the bike (not sure why, but I'm just going with it) so the crate needs to be large enough to handle the bike without it being dismantled.

Please let me know if you can point me in the right direction.

Thanks
Jill

Cheers

Tell her we all said goodbye and we enjoyed having her on the rides with us!

You can call any of the local dealers. If they've uncrated a recent bike they might be able to give it to you.

Might take some work tho...

you can try craters and freighters here in Sterling, here's the number 703-796-0180 and make sure when shipping a motorcycle please make sure no liquids on bike! Oh yeah you might need a hazmat shipping deck? Just ask the EXPORTER

Thank you

Thanks Bexxx, I'll tell her.

Some good suggestions here to find crates. As far as I can tell they're just grabbing some room on a cargo flight and need something to strap it down onto (secure it). Last bikes I saw go back this way were two supermotos tied/bungied to a pallet and wrapped with about a mile of bubblewrap. That will be my last resort because, well, Dawn's kind of scary and if anything happened to her bike she'd have my hide!

Cheers
