Need Tires! - 2006 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 Can you help? - December 18, 2009, 12:52 PM

Been on tire rack, been on JC Whitney... I'd like to know if anyone on here may have a hookup for 4 tires for my Tacoma.

Size - 275/75/16 C compound for hauling

Looking at:
Pro Comp MTs - http://www.jcwhitney.com/MUD_TERRAIN...;0;2011506;0;0

BF Goodrich MTs - http://www.jcwhitney.com/Mud_Terrain...;0;2017046;0;0

Dick Cepek Fun or Mud Country - http://www.truckaddons.com/tires/Dic...FcZM5Qod4jxrKA

Mickey Thompson MTZ - http://www.summitracing.com/search/B.../?autoview=SKU

Toyo A/T - http://www.wheelsforless.com/detail.aspx?ID=6541

Or any suggestions from folks.

Ideally I'd like to try to keep this around $500... perhaps unrealistic, but I didn't know if someone could hook it up. As you see I'm looking for something A/T aggressive or M/T.

Thanks much for any help... I'll be sure to return the favour if I can.

I have always had a hard time finding a place that could beat TireRack. even when I was buying direct from a company i ended up getting better prices from Tirerack

I'm competative as hell with tirerack.com but I need him to double check the tire size.

Johnny tire size stock should be 275/70/16... If a 285/75/16 would tuck under the fenders and not kill turning I'd love to look at that too.

Let me know.

The 285 are only 10mm wider and should be fine for turning. The problem is the 285/75s are 1.7 inches taller than the 275/70 which is going to through off your speedo and is going to make the truck taller adding to the difficulty loading bikes into the back.

Probably not. Check your warranty I had a customer get a trans problem declined because of over stock tires on his truck. If it was mine i would put the bigger tire on.

For the type/look of tire you want we're gonna be above your $500 range Ben. If you don't have to have the aggressive offroad tread I can get A LOT closer!! I did some checking on the tires you have listed and then called a few of my offroad buddies ... bang for buck this is what they both said to get.

Bad ass tire!!

Maxxis Big Horn Radial 275/70R16

I can do $735.45 OTD and driving. Does not include any road hazard warrenty or alignment. If you want them I can get them by Wednesday.

Let me know bro.

Yes. Last night I ordered two Yokohama Geolander's for my truck. Hardly expensive tires but still $290 shipped. Now to find a place to get them put on.
