Talking New 2010 laws in effect - January 2, 2010, 02:51 AM

Ok, so the start of the new year has prompted some pretty stupid laws that go into effect.
I have only seen afew but, post up any that havent been seen.

My contribution:

The sale of "novelty" lighters - devices designed to look like cartoon characters, toys, guns, that play musical notes or have flashing lights
are banned in Nevada and Louisiana.

Teenagers going to a tanning bed in Texas will have to be accompanied by an adult.

And some CA. laws are to damn funny:
SB 527 allows the operation of bikes without seats on state roads, as long as the bike was built that way on purpose. SanFran
SB 135 makes it a misdemeanor to chop off a cow's tail, except for when it's medically necessary.
AB 305 imposes jail time for those convicted of knowingly failing to report oil spills, or lying about them.

On cows ...

I actually know someone that did that. I used to work dairy farms. A cows tail is about as big around as your wrist. They are constantly swinging them to whack flies, etc.

Well, every night at milking time, after the cows have been out in the field all day, you would get whacked in the face with a nasty cow tail at least 4 times. It Hurts! If you get a good thwack, it's like getting punched in the face.

Anyway, a guy down the street from us had enough of it and lopped off all the cow tails.

Kinda cruel, cause then the cows can't defend themselves from biting flies. So, actually a good law.

LOL.

The new DC law that requires you to pay $.05 for every bag you use if the items you're purchasing come from a convenience, grocery, fast food, or liquor store. I went to Subway today and ended up carrying out my sub, napkins, chips, and drink.
