New Gloves: What makes them soft? - April 23, 2012, 01:30 PM

SO I have been buying the same gloves since 2005. I just got a new pair...same size and all, but of course they feel too small.

What is it that makes them stretch faster? I did try putting them in water then riding...seems as though they got tighter lol.

Last pair I bought was tight. I put em on and walked around my house and held them over boiling water while wearing them. After a few hours of that they were good to go.

Leather conditioner will make the material soft and it may speed up the process a tad bit. Water can harden certain types of leather, I got stuck out in the rain in a lambskin leather coat and it was F-d up. I had to cover that thing in leather conditioner to get it back to normal, it took a few days.

water should not hurt these since i have had them in the rain numerous times...thought there was some kinda shit people use to loosen them up fast.

Water should help but you have to wear them while they are wet for a bit. Then let them air dry in the cold.
