I must say gopro cams are freakin awesome!

Last year during our show tour season we used them at the shows and they were awesome! we remote linked them to our big screens to see all the action while it was happening! very impressed

Hey guys, I got my GoPro HD just before the snow started falling in my new home state of Iowa.

Here are a few quick thoughts:

This little guy is a fantastic helmet cam. Its very easy to use and does a good job indicating when it is recording. Pros -- Light and sound indications that it is recording.
Cons -- the Icons are tough to see in dim lighting.
Does not work well in low light.
Take a look, here is a rather boring ride to work:

So keep each file to 4GB or less? Otherwise whatever else is on the card becomes junk? 4GB is enough for a 15-20 minute trackday session.

40GB at 1080 =1GB per 10 minutes.

GoPro says you need to use a Class 4 card also. Haven't tried it with a class 4 card. I have a class 2

All the videos I have ever seen using Gopro come out like complete shit - only watchable by people who made it IMO... This HD version looks a lot better though... But for the price, I would rather get Vado HD.

BTW, I think the STD def camera is pretty decent, too. It's biggest shortcoming was that the resolution was less than DV ... so, when you edit and render, you lose a bit of quality. All the vids on the net that look crystal clear have not been edited.

Here's an example of one I made that is edited. Not bad, but what you see is the best quality I could get from it (when editing):

With this new camera, in HD mode, I'm hoping to get much better results becuase I will be compressing down ... not up. So, analytically, It ought to be better.

Guess we'll see.

Great price for a truly underwater camera, I think.

Hey guys, just shot several video's while skiing using 720P and 960P. Came home and viewed them on Windows Realtime video player and saw that all the video's had a lot of jumping/delay, the frame rate is not continuous or smooth at all. The picture looks great and I'm using a 16GB Sandisk Ultra II class 4 card. This is the 1st time I'm using a GoPro Hero camera, any idea what I'm doing wrong? thanks

from what I read on the gopro web page they can support 32gb sd cards now. Is this the same model you are discussing? I also read they have improved the wind noise reduction, can anyone verify that?
