Nursing Job - February 18, 2011, 06:15 PM

My wife just graduated and got her license in VA but she is having a really hard time finding jobs. Most of the bigger hospitals require experience which she obviously doesn't have yet. Do any of you have experience with this or know someone who does? Does anyone have any suggestions for her or have any ideas on other places to apply? She would really like to get her foot in the door at a hospital. Also if anyone has any contact information they wouldn't mind sharing it would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Try applying for hospice work. That's pretty good "care" experience.

Plenty of people dying at home need quality care.

I'm pretty sure she has applied there but I will have to ask her. She didn't go to school in this area so she does not have the benefit of knowing any of the staff and getting her foot in the door.
