NYC must see? - August 6, 2008, 02:34 AM

So say I'm going to NYC soon, is there anything that is an absolute "must see" there? I've never been before... Oh and someone post a MD ride for Friday, I can bring one more, so we'd have 3 right there.

Go up the Empire State Building... you can do either the 86th floor or the 102nd (all I've ever done with people when I play tour guide is the 86th floor... you can get an "express ticket" for that one, letting you bypass the lines)

Go to the Statue of Liberty (ferries leave from either "South Ferry" or Jersey City, NJ)

Take the Circle Line cruise around Manhattan Island (3 hours... and no, it's not the SS Minnow)

Go to Chinatown...

Go to Times Square at night...

Macy's Herald Square, FAO Schwartz...

St. Patrick's Cathedral...

Rockafeller Center...

I can get you more info... I grew up in that area and still have family there.

Oh yeah... and have a real bagel, too.

Murray's Bagels on 8th Ave btwn 22nd and 23rd on the east side of the street.

Or try H & H Bagels on 46th Street at 12th Avenue.

Remember, streets run east/west, avenues run north/south

A hot dog from a street vendor.
The Apple Store 767 5th Ave
FAO Schwarz 767 5th Ave
Rockafeller Plaza between 48 and 49th St and 5th Ave

A personal favorite
Nintendo Store (one block east from Rockafeller between 48/49 st)

Wow, insane trip. The Trump Tower was mind blowing, all marble and gold. Ate at a hole in the wall restaurant in chinatown, (great food) saw brooklyn bridge and time square at night (incredible) statue of liberty ferry thingie (beautiful pictures) and ate a bagel with cream cheese. Very good, it made Panera seem average. I wanna go back now
