yeah he made both of these issues extremely clear to everyone that asked, move troops out out Iraq and into Afghanistand and support science, including stem cell research, not like he reversed his policy once elected.

I'll admit...I got caught up in the hype...got too optimistic...and now I already feel I voted for the wrong guy after just one month into term. I'm not sure McCain could have saved anything from happening and since I live in DC, it wouldn't have mattered if I voted for him or not, but I have now seen how everyone got duped during the year of campaigns.

I regret not listening to my instincts when I felt something was too strange that every media outlet (besides Fox) was trying to make Obama into the next JFK. But I told myself that people were waking up.

I was wrong, cause I was still sleepin and just dreamin.

We'll, my new alarm clock has no snooze button, and I'm wide awake now and can't even think about going back to sleep. Spring is just about here, hybernation is over and this bear is hungry and about to go eat.

Sorry, didn't mean to come off as an ass.. You stated you hadn't heard anything so I stated you must not be listening.. I don't think that was so horrible but I will try and watch my tone a little.

As far back as July 11, 2008 and probably before.. There is tons of information on this and he has made the same basic statement every single time he has been asked about Iraq and Af. On radio, on TV, in the papers. Time and time again. Get out of Iraq and concentrate on fixing Af.

I have felt the same way. Maybe I was expecting a little too much too quickly. The stimulus package is one thing that I feel is very agenda based and simply supports some of the industries he wanted to improve during his campaign and doesn't really focus on the reasons for the problems.
Is it just me or is it ironic health care and education got added to this package?

All I heard was, "Bring the troops home" and I thought that meant all troops. Is he moving troops from Iraq to Afghanistan or are these new troops? (did I miss if they were moved or new troops?)

I read this and thought it was interesting.....

There are 40 nations with troops in Afghanistan a number admirably large but also potentially misleading.
There are roughly 65,000 international forces here, but half of those some 33,000 are American. The British have 9,000, so the two allies account for two-thirds of all foreign troops. Germany, France and Canada have roughly 3,000 each, and Italy has 2,300. So those six countries account for more than 80 percent of the force.
And all of those percentages will soon grow; President Barack Obama just this week approved the deployment of 17,000 additional U.S. troops in Afghanistan.
On the other end of the scale, Austria and Georgia each has one soldier here. Ireland has seven and Iceland eight. All soldiers face the danger of ambushes and roadside bombs, but only a handful of countries truly carry the fighting load. That list includes the U.S., Britain, Canada, the Netherlands, France and Australia, in roughly descending order. The coalition is fragile. Canada and the Netherlands are expected to draw down forces in the next couple of years. The U.S. will miss that fighting power, but America is adding so many more troops that it could easily make up shortfalls. The NATO-led mission posts more details about the its troops numbers at this Web site, though it does not include roughly 12,000 troops in the separate U.S.-led coalition: http://tinyurl.com/d8o2t8

I guess the private sector could not provide their own funding for a science that has yet to be proven (embryonic stem cells).

I love how people always leave that out when talking about this funding vs. non-funding argument. Bush vetoed EMBRYONIC stem cell research...you know, those little fertilized embryos that some people tend to think of as living creatures. Not only are there several other sources for stem cells, they have also proven to be more effective and less prone to genetic mutation than the embryonic versions.
To be fair though, the war in Iraq hasn't been privately funded, and that's killed lots of people, which most tend to think of as living creatures.

Each side can find some sort of moral objection with what the other side is doing. When your guy's in, you're happy, when he's not, you're not.

Obama has always wanted to get out of Iraq and put more focus on Af. Recently the situation in Af and Pakistan has been going way down hill.

These are not new troops. These are troops taken from what would have gone to Iraq. Af is on the brink of failure and going back into the hands of the Taliban if something real isn't done there soon. Don't blame Obama for this. This is his inheritance from Bush. Bush put all his energies into Iraq and basically ignored Af and the Taliban. Its the Taliban who supported 911 and its the Taliban who are the real supporters of terrorists. If we allow them control of the region again you will see another 911 happen somewhere. These guys love nothing more than a good hanging/stoning/beheading. They like to kill little kids just for going to school. Such nice guys.

I still believe morally grey areas should be settled by a simple game of rock, paper, scissors... and then given leeway for 5 years or until objectional practices or evidence toward the affirmative are determine the lawful status through legal recourse. Invalidating or validating them as a practice.

RP is the boss. But idk how the collapse of the $ would lead into the creation of the Amero for the North american countries. The reason why the euro was so successful is bc tehre is soo much commerce between the European countries and traveling of the ppl. We have our borders on lock down, unless of course they start taking down the borders and allow for free travel. When this begins tohappen, ill be more inclined to think we will have the amero soon after

Sounds reasonable. I wonder if we're headed that way. Everyone talks about how we're becoming 2 languages, with almost everything duplicated in Spanish. I once read/heard that Los Angeles was the second largest Spanish speaking city in the world. Not sure if that's accurate but it sounds believable.

You know who is supposed to be the largest English speaking nations by about 2016? 1. China. 2. India

Not sure any of it's related, just more thoughts.
