Office 2013 / Office 365 ??? - February 1, 2013, 10:19 PM

so what is up with windows having a subscription rather then just purchasing the suite? since i work for the college i can get Office Professional 2010 for $95 (if i get it now before they take it off the shelf) or get a 4 year subscription of 2013 / 365 for $80.

which should i go with? and has anyone used the new 365 / 2013. it will probably be a while before the campus upgrades the office programs. we just switched to windows 7 this fiscal year.

365 is a cloud based service, you're permitted to install it on 5 devices. Once you see it's available on up to 5 devices it's not too bad of a deal. But most people don't have 5 devices but they are aiming on using it on your: Slate, pc, laptop, windows phone and your whatever else. It's kind of cool but personally I would stick with 2010 for simplicity.

ya thats for home premium. since i work in the educational system i get the university edition which is just the pro edition at a fraction of the cost. the 365 / 2013 is $80 for a 4 year subscription for 2 devices. or i can just get the 2010 and own it for $95

Adobe has started offering this kind of software access as well. $29.95 per month gets you a subscription to all of CS6. I myself have not tried it or any other cloud-based applications. If a package requires constant network connectivity, then I say flank that shizz because unlike teenage girls, I'm not always on the internet while I'm working.

Or you could just download the official MSDN ISO Office 2013 Professional Plus (from any technet or torrent, just check the hash tags to make sure it's legit) and then activate it with mini-KMS software such as "Microsoft Toolkit", LaNanov15, or KMSnano.
