OLD Hd on the Xbox slim - September 15, 2011, 06:25 PM

Well i had an issue awhile back, I bought my Xbox elite in 2004 or 2005 and never had issues probably 1203729873223002872894372hours in gaming on it then 1 night playing Blackops shit froze then it threw this ...
SO i went out and bought a new slim and brought it home and realized the harddrives dont interchange =/ WTF so this is what i did since all my shit was saved on HD

AND VIOLA

Tore it apart and a normal type harddrive...so i used needlenose and put it into the new slim and it works...

so i got a 120GB slim

or if you want to upgrade your 4gb slim you can find an old 120g HD and get some moar Gigs

thought about that problem when I gave my elite to my son, i just bought a refurbished 250gb slim and transferred with an external hard drive. The refurbished 250 was only 149.99 on one of best buy's daily deals

I had an old white one throw me some red rings but this was after 5 years of treating it like shit, leaving it running for days at a time, and never cleaning the dust out. I wouldn't worry too much about any red rings.

That was last gen - it's an overheating problem, wrong thermal paste etc.

MicroSoft covered it - send in the unit and they fix it. Turned mine around in a week.

New gen has no such problems

buy it

They turned yours around in a week?

My turn around time was close to 4 months! It was long enough to make me go and buy another one haha
