"Orange and Maroon Effect" Day - Friday, April 20th - April 19, 2007, 02:39 PM

Show Your Support for all Those Affected by the VT Shootings

Friday, April 20th - "Orange and Maroon Effect" Day

You can show your support for the victims, families, and the Virginia Tech community by wearing Orange and Maroon on Friday, April 20th (National "Orange and Maroon Effect" Day, see below for an explanation). Also, those of you that are Virginia Residents, Gov. Tim Kaine has called for a statewide day of mourning.

From the Daily Press (local news):
Virginia Tech family members have declared Friday an "Orange and
Maroon Effect" day to honor those killed during the shootings on
Monday and to show support for Virginia Tech students, faculty ,
administrators, staff, alumni and friends.

The "Orange and Maroon Effect" was born several years ago as in
invitation to Tech fans to wear orange and maroon to Virginia Tech
athletic events.

People across the state are being asked to come together on Friday to
remember the men and women killed or injured Monday at Virginia Tech
in the worst mass slaying in U.S. history. A disgruntled student
killed 32 students and professors in two separate shootings before
committing suicide.
