OT: Where to stay in Myrtle Beach? - May 17, 2012, 08:45 AM

So the wife is stuck on the idea of going to Myrtle Beach this year. I know diddly about it. I figure somebody on here might have an idea.

She's talking a condo for a week. I'm thinking hotel.

This is a vacation mainly for our 8 year old daughter. So kid friendly is the main thing. Close to attractions for her. Beach, rides, etc.

I'm also looking for ideas for rainy days. Cause that does happen on vacation.

I want my baby back, baby back, baby back....Chileeeeee's bay back...

Von would probably be the MB expert. He's there almost every year w/o fail for BBW.

Yeah, but I doubt my 8 year old daughter is into BBW. Soooooo. Age appropriate.

Though I do expect he will be along shortly.

Point taken, but there's more to BBW than ass & titties.

Trust me, most people are T&A'd out by the 3rd day and actually go around and explore the city and things to do.

Von could probably give you some insight on things to do/see with you and family.

My recent experience has been BBW too but i can highly reccommend this hotel

Avista Resort
Avista | N. Myrtle Beach Hotel Resort | Amenities

It is not in Myrtle beach it is in North Myrtle Beach but the 1BR i stayed in was nicely sized and had a nice kitchen in it. They also have beach access from the hotel. Staying in North Myrtle gets you away from some of the hustle and bustle of Myrtle Beach proper but its only 10mins up the 17 so youre not that far.

Another hotel/condo property i stayed at was here:

Barefoot Landing
Barefoot Landing, North Myrtle Beach, Shopping, Dining, Entertainment

It was a little closer to Myrtle Beach and has more restaurants near by. We went here for a pseudo family reunion at the beach so it was a big venue to hold the family between its condos and hotel.

As far as fun, go down Ocean Blvd (also a gang of hotels on this road) in Myrtle and there are plenty little shops and museums (Ripleys) to go into. Also there are a lot of mini golf courses all over the place. There are also a lot of outlet malls out there especially near the two resorts I just told you about. Thats all i can think of right now. Let me know if you have any questions.

We stayed at

Myrtle Beach Resorts | Resorts in Myrtle Beach South Carolina

for Nudist's wedding. Its at the far north of myrtle beach (not north myrtle), so its about a 10 minute drive from the main myrtle beach area (the amusment park, boardwalk, etc).

It's real nice. Big pool, beach access, waterslide (which we took full advantage of).

Usually myrtle beach hotels are kinda crappy with tiny pools (if one at all).

If you head south on 17 business, you'll pass about 4 putt putt places as well.. what kid doesn't love putt putt? We even played a round with my parents - was a blast.

Hahahahah! Only a group like us would go to a nice resort like that and turn their water slide into a best lap contest.
