Passing Emissions/Inspection - October 27, 2009, 02:53 PM

Hey guys just wondering who is a little on the easy side or completely easy to pass around old town Alexandria or a good mechanic who wont rip me off.

I picked up a 93 toyota 4runner about 3 hours ago took it to get inspected

FAILED

lol damn

It needs a exhaust leak fixed, a rear spring absorber, front brakes and rotors, headlight adjustment

I dont exactly have the cash to do this right now but do intend to have it fixed

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Get it fixed. Gonna cost ya a shiz ton to bribe someone to pass an obviously failing car, more than it'd costs to just fix that junk. Use search to find the VA inspection checklist, seen it before.... get it fixed.

Depends on where the leak is. I plugged a hole in my exhaust once to get enough back press to pass emissions. the shock problem you are fucked you have to replace it. how much did you pay for this truck? and how many miles on it?

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002JN5JC Exhaust repair tape, $4.00 Can probably be found at Autozone or similar place. Like Nubbs said, everything else can be DIY, headlights, changing brake pads and messin wit the shocks is just grunt work, take a sunday to get it all done in one shot.

sweet thanks man

the 2nd time you've helped me I appreciate it!!!

Ill take a look at it tomorrow and see where the exhaust leak is and what not

Edit

technically the only thing holding me back from emissions is the exhaust leak right?

The rest is just inspection lol
