Speed tape, it's fairly common actually. We had to CDL a winglet once due to hanger rash. The winglet was cut off and we used speed tape to seal off the end of the wing. It was on the aircraft for a few days (multiple flights at above mach .80) before we were able to due the repair. It's a common sight for a temporary fix for small holes and such also that don't structurally affect anything. It buys enough time to get the aircraft someplace with the parts, tools and time to do the repair.

By the way, that actually IS Craig in the first two shots. I (his dad...PitPig) was out taking pictures today (I'm visiting him in Texas this week) and just coincidentally he came back from a solo flight as I was shooting. I was showing him the pictures and he saw the tail number. Pretty long odds I'd just happen to shoot his airplane.

It's not used on our aircraft to my knowledge, but I know the stuff is pretty effective, still always makes me laugh, seeing an airplane fixed with tape
