Police officers fighting? - April 22, 2010, 09:46 AM

Man o man
This is why i advocate 'getting out of the way first', and shooting second.

"TEMPLE HILLS, Md. - Two off-duty sheriff’s deputies working security at a Prince George’s County night club shot a man who allegedly tried to hit them with his car.

The incident happened outside of Club Elite in Temple Hills, Maryland shortly after 1:00 a.m. Thursday morning.

Officers say that the off-duty sheriff’s deputies, who work part-time as security for the business, were involved in a fight with several men outside of the club.

The men entered a vehicle and struck one of the deputies as they drove from the scene.

Both of the officers fired at the vehicle, striking the driver.

The three men in the vehicle and the officer struck by the vehicle have been hospitalized.

Injuries to the officer and subjects involved in the fight are believed to be non-life-threatening.

The Prince George’s County Sheriff’s Department says that both deputies have worked at the club part-time for several years. No other such incidents have been reported.

People inside of the club were kept at the location and questioned by police until around 5:00 a.m.

The two deputies will be put on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation."

Oh damn....
PG...
While I think the officers will be in the right...
I bet that the other people inside the vehicle will try and sue PG county Police Dept.

PG county officers get sued alot and lose most cases than win.
It's one of the reasons they have a No Chase Law. They were on the verge of being bankrupt from multiply court cases.

Yeh, if you can survive being ran over by a car first

Like maybe (and i said maybe), if he had ran out the way first, then possibly he wouldn't be in the hospital now. But of course cops LOVE having some type of reason to shoot at people

lol you are right...not not legaly.
They are suppose to let the radio do the chasing, and "pursue" as a way to just keep watch and block in.

but i think thats like telling a pitbull not to bit.

seriously? ....really? are we going to have to bring up this ignorance crap again? Peoples fluffy dogs probably barks more and bites more at other dogs way more then my PIT has ever even looked at another dog funny. Please, if your going to refer to something, make sure it's legit. Lets leave these dogs outta it, thats how their name keeps getting spread as bad, from people continuing to make those kinda comments.

Thank you.

pitbulls are genetically engineered to be voracious killers, especially against human prey

Yeah, anyways, back on topic, I dont think the PD will be getting sued, seeing they were off duty and currently employed elsewhere. I think the club would be a more likely avenue of a lawsuit.
