Looks like McCain thinks the same... ready to piss on McCain for it now?

Also notes he supports a gas tax holiday, as did Clinton.

D'oh!!

C'mon Devil! As intelligent as you are do you actually think that this won't be passed on to the consumer? PLEASE! Open your eyes. That's what Laissez faire is all about. If you mess with the free market, we are only a socialistic republic then. All of these oil companies will then therefore raise gas prices in order to recoup their profits. It's the economy _____. That's why Communist Russia failed, because of it's economics.

I hate the high gas prices. I don't think they need to be that high because of supply and demand. I think they are that high because the gas companies can get you and me to pay that much, even if it pisses us off. But as much as I hate it, if I had a very successful company the last thing I would want is the government telling me that I am too successful at my business and force me to return even a little of it back to the public. Someone on here said it better than anyone else before or since.... (semi-quote) "If you're upset that the oil companies are making too much money, invest in them."

Stupid tax to begin with.

For all the people that think the Gas companies are raping the consumer...open your eyes. The reason that they are report record profits is because we are at record consumption numbers and at record prices. The price of crude oil determines the price of gas. It is worth approximately 75% of the production cost of gas and hence the reason that it has gone up so sharply.

Gas companies average around 7% profit. If any other business did that, they would need to shut their doors. Again, difference being that everyone needs to buy gas.

Gas taxes on the producers will ultimately raise the cost to consumers.

A gas tax should have been imposed by the federal government on the sale of gas back when it was $1 and change and put towards the developement of mass transit, alternative fuel, and exploration. I hate to admit it, but Ross Perot was right about 17 years ago.

The tidbit about 7% I am regurgitating from a recent story on BP's record profits that they reported.

They were up from last quarter to just over 7.2% if I recall correctly.

Voting for Mcain will further send this country into economic downfall as now the national deficit is over 9 Trillion Dollars. The highest it has ever been.
None of the candidates plans on helping gas prices is going to work, but Obama's overall plan will help the economy.
If you people seriously think Mccain will help this dreadful economy you are very mistaken. It seriously surprises me. Mccain will further put this country into deficit with his war rhetoric, and continued old fashioned way of dealing with the military and intelligence.

Wake up people. fucking seriously. How has the last 8 years been? How is your house value? How much is gas? How many troops died? Did we got Osman bin Ladin? How much is medicare? How is the National Deficit? WAKE THE FUCK UP!!

BTW do not use my word FACK when referring negatively to Democrats and positively towards the Marxism...err I mean Republican Party.
