Prince William County- Police Officer Shot - September 15, 2006, 07:12 AM

http://www.wtop.com/?nid=600&sid=913555

This happened about 5 miles from my house...

DUMFRIES, Va. - Police in Prince William County, Va., are searching for a man who shot an officer during a traffic stop on Dumfries Road near Exeter Drive Thursday night.

Prince William County police say he was talking with the officer when he pulled a gun and fired.
The officer's arm was burned by gunpowder. Prince William County Police say the officer was not seriously wounded. He was taken to the hospital, where he was treated and released.

Police say the officer did return fire. It was at that point that the suspect jumped back in his truck and got away.

The suspect's truck has been recovered. It was pulled out of the forest in a neighborhood south of the Prince William Parkway off Hoadly Road.

Police early Friday used helicopters and tracking hounds to find the man. Now they have extra patrols out looking for him.

He's described as a white man in his early 20s with blond, spiky hair. He has a multi-colored tattoo with lettering on his left arm and is about 5-foot-7 or 5-foot-8. He was wearing a white T-shirt.

After the 11 p.m. shooting neighbors received a reverse 911 call alerting them about the situation.

Anyone with information about the shooting should Crime Solvers at 866-411-TIPS.

I posted about this in the shoutbox last night. The guy was driving a 2000 silver Chevy 1500 with a flat bed with wood sides. It had New Hampshire tags.

I live 1 mile from were the truck was found, did recieve the reverse 911 call. That's okay if the loser tried to get into my house he would have filled with 357 mag, 223, 40 S&W, 10 gauge and .45 ACP rounds. I stayed up all night just in case.
