Proposed tax change for VA - December 18, 2009, 05:33 PM

No more car/personal property, replaced with slight increase in income tax.

I haven't gotten around to doing the math, but for me anyways I think I might actually pay less this way. It would at least be close and I wouldn't have to deal with all the bills and stickers. With a garage full of bikes plus a truck the taxes add up. Fortunately for me most are pretty old so the taxes are less. I'd like to have a nice fancy car but I don't want to be paying out taxes on it every year. Personal property is like a penalty for doing well have having nice things.

Great Idea! Increase taxes when we're at 10% unemployment.

Seriously, if they'd increase taxes durning good times and actually save the additional revenue they could help everyone out by lowering taxes in times like this.

to be honest, that means some people who dont own homes, cars or motorcycle pay some of our taxes. thats soo unfair for them.

Why is that anymore unfair than people with no kids paying for schools and not getting the child deduction?

thats unfair too. i am going to save lots of money on taxes but my two motorcycle are my toys i feel very guilty if some other person is paying taxes for my toys. it is very unfair for somebody who is not as fortunate.

Don't let them blank check your income taxes. Look at how much the increase is and what you own?

"Riding a race bike is an art - a thing that you do because you feel something inside."

"I don't like being famous - it is like a prison. And driving for Ferrari would make it far worse."

"I race to win. If I am on the bike or in a car it will always be the same."

"I'm Valentino Rossi. And I want to be a person, not an icon."
