Question about VA tickets?? - May 10, 2010, 10:27 AM

If you get a ticket in VA and you do the pay off...does it add points to your insurance?

My girlfriend just got a ticket with a $110 pay off..

If we pay it early will she still get points??

depends on what the ticket was for. A point-able offense is a point-able offense regardless of when and if you pay it.

A ticket for 9 mph over? She must have been popped by local police. State troopers don't normally budge for 9 over. Hell, I pass troopers everyday on HOV and slow down to 9 over

Like everyone else said. She will get 3 points for her speeding offense whether she pays now or later. As far as insurance goes, her rates may go up if she is in a higher risk category but this is completely dependent on your insurance company.

GL to the little lady.

Virginia moving violations and assessments can be found here . . .

3 points just for looking at it.
2 points for downloading it.
1 point for negative comments on it.

Good luck, and drive safely!
