Random Rant about FB - October 13, 2013, 11:07 AM

Top 5 Most Annoying Posts on Facebook:
By Jason Brooks

5: "Repost if you agree" - Maybe I want to remain silent in my agreement of your most recent political tirade. Aside from that, I don't have the time or the energy to help push your agenda. I'm too busy doing shit like being awesome.
4: "Repost if you have a daughter/son/mother/father/etc... that means the world to you. - OK, first of all, my daughter is 7, so she has no business on Facebook in the first place. Second, if I want her to know that I love her, I say "Cadence, I love you baby girl!" and my actions towards her will more directly reflect how I really feel rather than some stupid picture of a rose and a witty comment.
3: "Delete me if you disagree" - Even if I did agree with you, I think I'm going to delete you anyway. Because if you think disagreeing with you on your position on Obamacare is grounds for not being friends, then maybe you're not that good of a friend.
2: These "Only smart people will figure this out, then repost" make me feel obligated because not "Only smart people" figure them out, anybody with a 2nd grade education can figure them out. It should say "Only retarded people CAN'T figure this out. Yes, I can think of a state that doesn't have the letter "E" in it. Let's start at the top and go down alphabetically. ALABAMA. Holy shit, that was so hard! As a matter of fact, the next 5 states don't have an "E" in them. Sheesh!
1: God couldn't give two shits about whether or not you reposted a message about him being the light of your life. As a matter of a fact, just like #3, I'm pretty sure he will most likely look at your actions in life and deal with you accordingly.

The fact of the matter is, most of these posts are attached to some company that owns the FB page in which it is posted and it's only designed to get you to do their advertisement for them.

That's it! I hope you had fun reading my rant. If you agree with this, re-post for Brooks Cycle Center and CrashParty

Good one!

And of course the ever popular "Can you name a state with the letter "A" in it?" type posts. It makes me LOL when I see the comment counts on those. Do folks think it's actually a quiz? Hahahahaha.

There's bold riders and old riders, but damn few bold old riders.

A lot of those posts are designed around increasing the original poster's visibility in Facebook feeds overall. They're trying to get you to help make them "popular" so they bubble up to the top of news feeds, "recommended for you," etc.

You're doing the right thing by ignoring them.

The worst ones to me are the extortion posts:

If you don't re-post this then you just hate puppies. How could anyone hate puppies?

I have a few people whom I haven't unfriended but are hidden from my news feed. I can't stand the idiocy posted by them (mostly what Jason posted) on a constant basis so I limit my torture to when I'm bored and go to their page to see if they've actually posted something original.
