Reckless Driving, Alcohol Related - October 31, 2009, 08:28 AM

So, I got this while driving my cage.

Was slightly under the limit according to roadside breathalyzer (I did not feel that much alcohol at all), passed the field sobriety tests, and have to appear in court next week. My last (and only) traffic offense was a speeding ticket (camera) in DC 5 years ago. Admitted to 20 over to the officer.

Ticket says reckless driving, alcohol related. Any advice with this situation? This was in Falls Church. Thanks!

It is going to suck. Curious as to VA vs. MD. It's also referred to as a wet reckless

Lawyer List
Get one. Reckless is still a class 1 misdeneanor. It can carry the same penalties as DWI/ DUI. The cop was kind enough to put the "alcohol related" part in there for the Judgy-poo.

Also the cause of unwanted pregnancies Bawhahaha. I crack myself up.

Seriously though I have never heard of this charge. So if I read this right he pulled you for speeding as you stated you admitted to 20+ over. So what does that have to do with "Alcohol Related"? What made him pull you out for the sobriety check? Did you smell of alcohol or did he say you had been swerving and doing crazy crap?

Just for clarification I don't condone drinking and driving. As a matter of fact I think if you even have one drink and then you drive you should rot in Hell. But that is a personal belief. I am just curious as to what his probable cause for the "Alcohol' part was?

Yes, the odor of alcohol was very strong, according to the officer. (+2 drunkies in the car with me). No swerving or anything.

what's the traffic code he wrote on the ticket? If it's not a code for DUI or DWI - then u'll jus get hit with the reckless...big whoop....jus don't get anuva one for 3-7 years...and DEFINITELY don't get hit with an actual DUI/DWI.

make sure the judge knows that u passed the field sobriety joint and that u had others in the car that were way more drunk than you. Admit to your stupid mistake and apologize.

R.I.P. Eric. You were truly like a younger brother to me. May you live on in all those you helped and reached out to help. You are truly missed!

tfinch: well, actually, if he did, that's fine cause it's in the pockets!
: Mike, can you feel bubbles floating around in there?

tfinch: Bubbles! Yes! Gurgly bubbles!
