reckless speeding - January 21, 2013, 05:07 PM

So I got popped today on 95 south, 83 in a 55. I stopped instantly, didn't even bother tryin to run. State boy and i have court in fairfax general in march.
Now I'm lookin for a little guidance from ya'll.

-I haven't had a moving violation in about 5 years.
-the bike is sprocketed(bought it like that) and doesn't have a speedo healer so the calibration is wayyy off, however it makes it read higher than I'm going. would it be worth it to have the speedo calibrated anyway just showing it was jacked up?

My hope is to get the ticket reduced to 19 over, i feel like i have a half decent chance with the good driving record and speedo being off but it is a bike and well hated by the law.

anyone have an input on this?

Don't even bother with the speedo shit. As soon as they ask you what the gearing DID to your speedo, and they find out the gearing makes it read higher, there will be no fucks given.

If you want to have better odds, get a lawyer. Otherwise just show up , ask for a reduction, and hope

Sucks to hear it. Definitely lawyer up. It's amazing how differently you get treated, especially in Fairfax

Today was a bad day to be riding anywhere a bit squirelly. I visited my wife for lunch at her job in Burke. On the way from Reston I counted 6 cops on the toll road, 17 on 495 (10 in the HOT lane with zero traffic passing them) and another 5 from braddock to her clinic off rolling rd.

Fairfax? If Manuel Leiva isn't on your list yet, he should be.
