Refinancing? - July 17, 2009, 12:55 PM

Anyone here do mortgages? I'm looking to refi, I'm on a 7/1 arm set to go up in a couple years. If you are, shoot me a PM. I'd like to get an estimate to see if its worth it.

I am in the same position dude. Only Im on a 5/1 ARM. I actually just talked to a friend of mine the other day who ran some numbers for me. I still have to follow up with her to get down to brass tacks, but I will let you know what I hear/learn.

Yeah, I figure it will be so/so worth it for me. Worth it to get out from the ARM before it starts going up, but not worth it because I think my home value to loan amount is more than 80% so I might get hit with PMI which will make my payments MORE for having less of an interest rate.

I'd like to avoid PMI at all costs (even if I have to put a good amount down to bring the loan amount down).

Anyway, if you do mortgages and are reading this, hit me up!

Do and 80/20 if you don't want to pay PMI. If it is worth it to you. I would rather just pay one place and be done with it. Worth PMI to me.

OVER? did you say "Over"? Nothing is over until we decide its over, was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell No!!!

Unless you paid a lot down you are screwed in Cashburn. Just like the rest of us.

I'm doing this if the values ever go up.

Nah I bought my place in 2003, with a 5/1 ARM, 80/15/5, then refi'd in 2005 since my house value almost doubled (to get out of the 2nd mortgage).

While it is not worth as much as it was in 2006 (obviously), my house is still worth more than I paid for it..
