Is the Republican Party thrifty? - November 6, 2016, 11:49 AM

Republicans & Co. claim that they are the fiscally responsible party.

I don't believe them.

If they were fiscally responsible they wouldn't put up a candidate that they have to spend so much defending and that the opposition doesn't have to spend a dime vilifying.

It's just not good fiscal sense.

In other news, water is wet.

Did we really need another political thread to remind everyone that yes, the republican party is absolutely not the party it says it is?

Yeah, yeah . . . .

It was supposed to be snarky/funny. My sense of humor is too dry for most people. I read something today and guess I hit a tipping point. I usually keep that stuff to myself but from time to time I have a "Oh, for fuck's sake" moment. I was hoping for a funny thread. Everyone is being so PC so that this is the only place I can go where people will say what they really think and I can too. But we need a little lightening up.

I know people, some friends, that are actual Republicans and I like and respect these people. I feel really bad for them. They've had their party hi-jacked by a bunch of asshats. I don't know an adult of conscience, on either side, that isn't appalled.

It just seems like we're all losing perspective and that doesn't help fix anything.

(. . . . a-a-and I just noticed that I put this in the wrong sub-forum. )

They didn't put up the candidate. Trump did it on his own. The RNC never wanted him to run.

I don't think "dry" is the descriptor I would use here. "Unfunny" seems to fit better.

Given American obsession with stardom and reality crap, he has probably gotten more free press than the last 10 presidential candidates combined.

He is a dumpster fire to be certain.

I was on his ship when it first sailed....then I saw the fires he was starting and bailed.

I thought i was going to make my first Republican Vote in my 26 years of voting.

I didnt even switch to Dem party on my voters card until 2008.
