Resturants around the kennedy center for lunch? - December 7, 2009, 08:56 PM

Going to be taking a lady friend to a show at the Kennedy center at the end of January as a Christmas present.

The show is at 1:30 so it may be an early lunch, or a late lunch/early dinner. I haven't decided whether to go before or after the show.

Her favorite food is Italian but im really open to anything.

You might as well go to the restaurant in KC on the top level. At least for the evening shows they will schedule so you are done before the show starts. Otherwise hit up Gtown afterwards...

Both of these are <1 mile from KC

If she likes Italian, try Filomenia. It's right off M St. in Georgetown. It's authentic Italian, so if you're expecting Olive Garden / Carrabba's kinda tasty craaap - forget it. Handmade, fresh pasta - hand pounded veal -- mmmm -- they're the real deal.

If you want general Americana but a bit upscale and a nice vista, Sequoias on the Waterfront has a nice panoramic overlook of the Potomac and Kennedy Center down the river.

Tony & Joes across the way is like your general Apple Bee and Bar/Pub fare. Aight, but not really nice unless its warm and they have the deck open.

(A) Filomenia
(B) Sequoia

^^^There's a Johnny Rockets on M. St.
Nothing better than ending up with a $25(!!) tab for 2 burgers, 2 rings, and shakes!
