Which rider can play pool? - August 5, 2009, 03:18 PM

In the spirit of the "which rider can bowl" thread, I want to know which riders can and do play pool, at least semi-seriously. I'm looking to get back into stroke, and want to play with some folks that have a decent game, as the only way to improve is to play with folks that are better than yourself. Of course, I'm also open to casual games with drinks and food. so.. anyone?

used to play in tourny's at Bridges, but my team coach kept sitting me out or making me sandbag cuz of some stupid ratings-to-point ratio rule. So now I play singles wherever....plus when I beat my coach - it didn't make sense to me to continue to take her advice in other games

HA! Thanks, Java, but I'm only an APA 4 which means Oneway is better than me (statistically).

I used to play on league up at Champion in Shirlington with Dwight and K-Square. Good times! When I moved back out to Ashburn, I quit the league but have been periodically looking to play on another. The clostest ones to me are Bridges in Fairfax or some place in Leesburg.

Shadowcat, if you're looking to get better, I highly recommend playing on a league. Tons of fun if you can find a good team!

Yeah, I used to play league (USPPA, rated at 110-120 back in the day), but as I've said, I'm out of stroke and no where near my peak. I'm willing to get back into league, as long as it's near enough to where I live (395 and Edsall). I'm not sure what pool halls are in the area, besides Hard Times in Springfield, but if anyone has details on leagues and good places to play, plus good places to buy supplies, please post.
