Riding while armed? - September 15, 2009, 01:48 PM

Hey guys so omw to my interview today, I had 2 sportbikes pass me and I noticed both of them were armed.

Looked like glocks, in a hard case, pretty open to his shirt was kinda over it but with the wind you could see it no problem.

Wondering if anyone rides while armed around here?
If so any trouble with the police or anything?

Im new so dont yell at me I heard in DC you cant carry unless your a police officer or fbi etc....

Is this ture?

Thanks

Wait wait im confused sorry. So you can carry openly? IE on your side like this guy was and not have a CCW? (concealed carry weapon permit)

But if you hide it like on your back under your shirt (or whatever) you have to have a license?

Why would you carry without a license because you have to be 21 to own a handgun correct? Or are the laws that different here?

You have to be 21 to purchase a hand gun. You do not have to be 21 to own a handgun in VA. And yes, open carry is legal for everyone.

you carry openly to discourage idiots... thats a freedom everyone gets in VA.

the CCW permit is the license you speak of. from the time i was 21 until about 25, i open carried just about everywhere.

Thats badass. Just don't even think of coming to MD with heat strapped to your waist! D.C. recently got their ban overturned but they're fighting like hell to keep people from doing anything, so wouldn't be strolling round there armed.

Ok so let me ask this. I am 20 years old and almost 21.

Am I technically allowed to carry openly? If its say registered to my mom like she buys it for me and I carry it?
Long as its openly seen?
If I get pulled over obviously would prob happen would I get in trouble?

Im not exactly planing on doing this, but very curious. If so this is pretty cool!!

Another question if someone is carrying openly but doesnt have a CCW can you still go into stores? Like gas station or walmart or whatever? Wouldnt they be a little leary of that?

Thanks everyone Im growing to like VA more and more every day lol

Your not aloud to carry in MD? and you said DC just got overturned so you ARE allowed to carry in DC or NOT ALLOWED? Sorry just trying to get everything clear so when I do carry I dont get in deep trouble.
